Agumbe is one of the highest peak of the western ghats, situated in-between Shimoga & Dakshina Kannada Districts. To enjoy the beauty of the western ghats & a stretch of the Arabian sea, one has to reach the peak of Agumbe maneuvering along the 14 steep hairpin bends. 

The highlight of this place is to experience the delightful Sunset which gets reflected from the Arabian sea onto the Horizon. Agumbe is the home of the Lion Tailed Black Macaque (Monkey) & Yellow Ringed Kraite (a endangered species of snakes). 

Sringeri 
The holy town of Sringeri is about 27 Kms, which is the abode of Goddess Sharadambha & the world renowned Adi Shankaracharaya's Mutt. 

Kollur 
About 60 Kms from Agumbe, Kollur is the home of Goddess Mookambika which is in the thick forests of western ghats. 

There are no Lodging facilities in Agumbe, although food is available at both Government & Private restaurants at Agumbe.

Road: Agumbe is 27 Kms from the holy town of Sringeri, various Government & Private Buses ply daily to Agumbe from various places, Some of the distances are Sringeri 27 Kms, Kollur 60 Kms,Shimoga 90 Kms. 

Rail: The nearest railhead is Shimoga or Kadur. 

Air: The nearest airport is Mangalore (114 Kms).
