215 Kms from Bangalore is Chickmagalur town. 55 Kms north from Chickmagalur town is Kemmanagundi, a scenic hill station on the Baba Budan range of hills. Kemmanagundi is also known as K.R. Hills after Wodeyar King, Krishnaraja Wodeyar who had made it his favourite summer camp. Kemmanagundi, at a height of 1,434 meters, is surrounded by thick forests and a salubrious climate the year. It has beautifully laid out ornamental gardens and panoramic view of the mountains.

Kemmanagundi is the ideal place to get away from the heat & dust, the crowds & traffic jams of the cities. Quite peaceful serene, nesting amidst lush green forests. Kemmanagundi is sure to revive & rejuvenate you, physically, mentally & spiritually.

Baba Budangiri Betta

At the height of 1434 m, a scenic hill station. Here both Muslim Community as well as Hindus worship Baba Budan Dharga & DattatarayaSwamy Temple respectively. The Temple & the Dharga are situated as caves in the Baba Budan Range of Hills. 

Places To See

Hebbe Falls 
8 Kms - water gushes down from a height of 168 mtrs in two stages. 

Kalhatti Falls 
10 Kms - Water cascades down from a height of 122 mtrs. There is also a local temple here, constructed in a gap between rocks. A 'Jatra' is held here for three days every year and attracts pilgrims from far and near. 

How To Get There

Air: The nearest airport is Bangalore .

Rail: Nearest Railhead- Tarikere, Chickmagalur District.

Road: To enjoy the journey to Kemmanagundi, it is in your own interest to travel with a private transport and not to depend on government run buses. KSRTC does not have a direct bus to Kemmanagundi and if you still wish to travel, catch a bus proceeding to Shimoga, get down at Tarikere or Birur and take a civil bus.
