Blue mountains, deep, narrow valleys, the gentle gurgle of streams, cascading waterfalls in lush tropical forests, a gorgeous array of flora and fauna. A land whose tranquil loveliness is quite unmistakably, the personal creation of Mother Nature herself.Time stands still In the Lushai hills of Mizoram. All you'll notice first is the serenity, The hushed wonder, the profound peace that makes them seen quite enchanted, makes them appear a place where man is almost a misfit. But look closer and you'll find quiet hamlets nestled amidst this most varied terrain. Hamlets inhabited by a people living in perfect harmony with the natural bounty of Mizoram, a people unique in their customs, beliefs, practices and lifestyles.
This specialness is brought about as much by Mizoram's location as anything else- landlocked between Myanmar in the east and south and Bangladesh and Tripura in west with its northern frontiers touching Assam and Manipur. Mizoram literally translated means Land of the Highlanders. Today Mizoram's tranquil natural beauty co-exists in perfect harmony with the day-to-day lives of the Mizos-bustling bazars and townships exquisite music and dance, festivities that burst with colour.
