| Nightclubs
are virtually non-existent. Bars or pubs are found in abundance in the bigger
cities. One might find it at a posh five star hotel in a big city but
that would be in the form of a discotheque only, and which will have a very expensive
entry fee. The gentry in such places are the yuppie elite and a drink of Baccardi
would cost upwards of Rs.250 for 60 ml. However, they are generally, not patronized
by couples or single women. Therefore, women travellers are advised to resist
going to a place with the sign ‘Bar’ on the outside. The cost of a drink here
is much cheaper than at any five star nightclub. But the best option available
to have a drink, is to purchase it from a store and have it in one's own private
place. Bangalore is famous for its pubs and this is a place one can comfortably
go and spend hours inside a decent pub. |
