Shopping in North India
Shopping in Kashmir

Kashmir: famous for carpets If Kashmir offers you carpets, papiér mache, leather shoes, boots, coats & jackets, rugs, embroidered shirts & dresses and walnut wood carvings, Punjab has Phulkari. The famous embroidered shawls, the silk soft 'Pashmina' shawls, stone-studded jewellery, filigree and enamelware are many of the artifacts that make Kashmir a shopper's dream.
If 'Phulkari'-embroidered fabrics, bed spreads and wall hangings of Punjab impress you, then you must check out the gold and silver-threaded footwear, woodcraft, silver work, carved bracelets, jewellery, woollens, durries and carpets lining the shops.

Shopping in Delhi

Delhi:A shopper's paradise If there is a shopper's paradise in India, it is Delhi. You will find emporiums from every other state here, including things peculiar to other countries around the world. Some of the special handicrafts of Delhi are silver work, filigree, gold and silver embroidered saris and fabrics, perfumes, curios, paintings, brass, copper, leather items and Indian musical instruments. Of course, Chandni Chowk is a place to be in Delhi.
If Kulu Manali in Himachal Pradesh is specially known for its shawls, scarves, and wooden carvings, then Badhoi & Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh are known for their carpets, copper & brass items, Kanpur for its leather works and Banaras for its silk saris.

Shopping in Lucknow

Lucknow special Himachal also offers hand-made shoes, wooden toys and other wooden articles, while UP is known for marble inlay trinket boxes, marble curios, ivory statuettes and semi-precious stone inlay are the forte of Agra. The famous chikan work is specific to Lucknow. Haryana too offers Phulkari work products and is very popular. Gold, silver and sequin work footwear, carpets and folk handicrafts are other items of interest there.
