| These
are very old rest houses of the Raj era, that can be found in even the remotest
parts of the country. These are known by different names, such as PWD
IB or Circuit House or Dak Bungalows. These are government run, and as they are
unbelievably cheap, it is sometimes very difficult to find accommodation here.
Booking is usually done by sending a wired message to the district administration
in advance, but the process could involve some red-tapism. Nevertheless give it
a try, as what one gets is definitely excellent value for money. |
